Ogden has a diversified economy which consists of many different industries. Hill Air Force Base is home to the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing which trains on the Utah Test and Training Range that is located to the west of the Great Salt Lake. The base has a large aircraft maintenance facility which employs thousands of civilian personnel.

Manufacturing

ATK is a leader in providing conventional and advanced weapon systems for the US Military. They aquired Thiokol, the builder of the space shuttle boosters, in 2001.
